Majority of polyester strings consist of a single polyester filament with a thin coating. This type of construction is also known as "monofilament".  Polyester strings typically are quite stiffer and tend to lose their tension quite quickly compared to nylon or multifilament strings. While these aren't desirable features for most recreational players, but thanks to the high repulsive power and minimal string movement characteristic of some high-end polyester strings, players are able to put more power, spin and control on the ball with a full swing, making the string extremely popular on the pro tour. 

Polyfibre engineers have applied the newly developed SMD (Standardized Molecular Distribution) technology to create the most advanced Co-Polyester string product line. Before the string extrusion process, the material is melted and blended under critical thermal controlling process. Then, the co-polyester material is extruded through a high temperature of thermo and lighting control tunnel. During these special energizing processes, heat and strong beams of light activate the string material which altered, transformed and standardized the molecular structure in the string.  Each molecule reformed and realigned into highly bonded, selectively cross linked molecular structure; molecules are well arranged and distributed throughout the entire string body which enhanced Polyfibre strings to outperform competitors in elasticity, repulsive power and durability.

This ethylene string has a characteristic, hexagonal profile which provides extra grip on the ball's felt, producing optimum spin.
